Election 2013: Yorko, Canfora vie for Lansing's 4th Ward

Today on Current State, we have the first of a series of segments related to the important decisions to be made by voters next month. The focus is on Lansing’s 4th Ward.Jessica Yorko was first elected to council four years ago. She’s an environmental justice coordinator with the Ingham County Health Department. Her record on the council includes work promoting safe walking and biking opportunities, promoting businesses and neighborhoods in the 4th Ward, and supporting the renaming of streets to honor Malcolm X and Cesar Chavez.

Chong-Anna Canfora works for Progress Michigan, a progressive communications non-profit that works with labor unions, women’s rights groups, environmental groups and immigration rights organizations. She’s vice-president of the Moores Park Neighborhood Organization.
