Etienne Charles has released a CD of Christmas music. He performs live from WKAR's Studio S.

Trumpeter Etienne Charles is on the MSU Jazz Studies faculty. He has put out a CD of Christmas music called “Creole Christmas,” and he has a release concert next week. Today, he’s our Live Music Friday guest.

BONUS MUSIC: 'I'll Be Home for Christmas'

Christmas season is upon us, and our Live Music Friday guest today has released a CD for the holidays called “Creole Christmas.” Etienne Charles is a trumpeter on the MSU Jazz Studies faculty. Next Thursday, he’ll perform at a CD release concert at the Robin Theatre in Lansing.

He’s joined in WKAR’s Studio S today by MSU guitar student Olin Clark, Kim Vi on piano, MSU bass student Aneesa Al Mussawir, and Jud Branham IV on drums.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
