‘Frampton Comes Alive’ in Michigan...again

Peter Frampton album covers
'Frampton Comes Alive' was Peter Frampton's biggest hit. His new release is 'Acoustic Classics.'

Peter Frampton will forever hold a place in the hearts of his fans. 13-million people bought “Frampton Comes Alive” in the 70’s. Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with the guitar legend ahead of his return to Michigan this week.

In the mid 1970’s, there was no bigger rock star in the world than Peter Frampton. For years, his live album “Frampton Comes Alive” was the biggest selling album of all time. He’s on tour this summer, including Michigan.

Frampton has been touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a couple of stops planned in Michigan. Those plans went awry a couple of weeks ago when Lynyrd Skynyrd had to postpone a number of shows. Frampton, though, is keeping the date at the DTE Energy Music Theatre on Thursday night. It’s uncertain if a Friday show at the Soaring Eagle Casino will be rescheduled.

Current State's Scott Pohl talks with Peter Frampton about his new acoustic album, songwriting, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
