We speak with Dr. Matthew Aubin ahead of his performance with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra this weekend with music from Spain. It’s also the second time he’ll be leading the JSO since being named their music director designate.

This weekend will mark the second concert of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s season. The theme is simply “Spain!” and deals with a few works inspired by that nation on the Iberian Peninsula.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley talks with the new face of the JSO, music director designate Dr. Matthew Aubin. During this season, Dr. Aubin shares responsibility with Maestro Stephen Osmond, who will be taking the second half of the season in 2017 as he crescendos to the finale of just about four decades leading the Jackson Symphony Orchestra.
