After the MSU men's basketball win over Southern Utah on Saturday night, head coach Tom Izzo spoke to the media about the criticism that he received concerning sophomore forward Nick Ward. Izzo was scrutinized for his benching of Ward after Tuesday's Big Ten win over Rutgers, in which Ward only played 11 minutes in the 10 point win.
Izzo took time after the win over the Thunderbirds to address how unhappy he was with the coverage of the situation.
"That's the talk radio idiots. And I mean that! Because that's what causes problems on a highly ranked team, that everything is scrutinized and you gotta be able to take that!"
