Members of the MSU Rowing Team are scheduled to meet today with several MSU Trustees to discuss the university’s response to the Larry Nassar case.

Nicole Marek is a senior on the team. She says the team is presenting a united front to “fight for the safety of all” and to hold the university accountable for its failure to do so. She hopes this is the first step of many as a dialogue between students and the board.

Marek explains that Nassar was the rowing team’s doctor from 1998 to 2016, and there are victims of his abuse on the team now.

Marek adds that she’s encouraged that the Trustees agreed to this meeting, saying “it’s a great first step. It speaks volumes.”
