Several Michigan communities--one of them Lansing--are getting a share of $2.4 million in federal grants to help clean up brownfield sites.U.S. Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow on Friday announced the funding was confirmed this week from the Environmental Protection Agency.
Among them, the Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority will get $400,000 to conduct environmental assessments. The Downriver Community Conference in southeast Michigan will get $750,000 to conduct environmental assessments of sites and Battle Creek will get a $650,000 revolving loan grant to support cleanup.
Mecosta County will get $400,000 to conduct environmental assessments and Mount Pleasant will get $200,000 to conduct environmental assessments.
