The Michigan State men’s basketball team beat Georgia and Virginia last weekend to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. The Spartans have now made it to the Sweet 16 in seven of the last eight seasons. Tonight, MSU will try to advance against the Oklahoma Sooners. The game will be played in Syracuse, New York shortly after 10 p.m. tonight.

The MSU men’s basketball team has beaten Georgia and Virginia to advance to the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16. MSU will play Oklahoma in the next round of the tournament. The game will be Friday night in Syracuse, New York.

The No. 8 Haslett Vikings girls basketball team defeated Benton Harbor in the Class B state semifinal, 63 to 52, at the Breslin Center to advance to the state championship tomorrow at 6pm against Detroit Country Day. Senior Forward Makenna Ott lead the team with 16 points and eight rebounds, as four of the five Vikings starters scored in double-digits.

Never mind the Super Bowl, the Spartans beat Michigan in men's basketball yesterday. It took overtime for MSU to defeat the Wolverines 76-66.

It was a frustrating outing Saturday for Michigan State men's basketball.  The team's performance was lacking in a number of areas in its 79-77 loss to Nebraska.

"Jekyll and Hyde" is the way the Detroit Free Press's Joe Rexrode described both the game and the season.

Rexrode and WKAR's Al Martin comment on where the Spartans stand at this point in the conference season.

Hoop great, and Lansing native, Magic Johnson has teamed up with the Lansing School District and is part owner of a company now providing providing the food for the district. Starting July 1st SodexoMAGIC, a partnership between Sodexo, Inc, and Magic Johnson Enterprises, took over the running of food service for the Lansing School District. Johnson is SodexoMAGIC's C.E.O. and President. WKAR's Al Martin caught up with Johnson to chat about the endeavor, along with the feeling of returning home, and so much more...
