East Lansing, MI – East Lansing, MI (MPRN) - An estimated 4,000 people were at the state Capitol Wednesday to protest taxes.
The gathering was one of many so-called "tea parties" held around the state and the nation.
The Capitol protest attracted people from across Michigan.
Many of the protestors waved signs, banners, or flags.
They complained about rising federal spending under President Obama, as well as the state's business tax, and Governor Granholm's support for a graduated income tax.
The protest was organized by a coalition of anti-tax groups.
