Dwayne Betts writes memoir, lobbies for juvenile justice

Lansing, MI – What's it like to be convicted of a felony at age 16 and spend the next nine years in an adult prison? Dwayne Betts tells his story in a new book called "A Question of Freedom: A Memoir of Learning, Survival and Coming of Age in Prison".

Betts is now 28 and in May, he graduated from the University of Maryland. His story was featured earlier this year on NPR. Betts came to Lansing this week. He spoke with WKAR's Gretchen Millich about his book and his work with the Campaign for Youth Justice, a nationwide group pushing for reform of the juvenile justice system.
