LANSING, MI –
People displaced by a huge fire this week at Trapper's Cove apartments in Lansing are still looking for emergency help.
Alison Bono of the Mid Michigan Red Cross says they've helped more than 40 people since the fire early Monday.
Bono says some people wind up needing to ask for help more than once.
"They have emergency needs, and then two days later, they realize they have bigger needs than they thought, and they'll come back," she explains. "So we're continuing to help with their casework and get them the things they need."
An emergency shelter at Trinity Church on Dunckel Road has now closed. Some people left homeless by the fire had spent Monday night at the church. More than 30 families visited the church while it was being used as a staging area by the Red Cross.
