LANSING, MI –
Davenport University officials have announced a planned expansion of operations in Lansing and two other locations. Three Michigan campuses will close next year.

Davenport President Rick Pappas says the Lansing campus could see either renovations or new construction in the future. New programs could be added, possibly including nursing or physical and occupational therapy.
He adds that Davenport officials have met with mayor Virg Bernero to discuss staying in downtown Lansing.
"We like downtown, but we're looking at all options right now," Pappas says, "but yeah, that would be a preference for us, to stay downtown."
Along with Lansing, Davenport plans expansions in Midland and Saginaw. At the same time, the private university will close campuses in Alma, Caro and Gaylord in May of 2012.
Officials say about 250 students are affected by the closings. They'll be encouraged to continue at remaining campuses.
