MSU med student ordered tried in more dog deaths

By AP

MASON, MI –
A Michigan State University medical student accused of killing at least 12 greyhound puppies has been ordered to stand trial in more of the deaths.

A judge in Mason on Thursday ruled that there is enough evidence to try 24-year-old Andrew Thompson on 14 counts in killings at his apartment in Ingham County's Meridian Township.

Last Friday, a judge in East Lansing ordered Thompson tried for puppy killings at a condominium in East Lansing.

Thompson has been suspended by Michigan State's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He's being held in jail on bonds totaling $600,000.

The Associated Press left phone and email messages Thursday for defense lawyers Stacia Buchanan and Kim Savage seeking comment.
