Absolute Music will present a wonderful evening of chamber music at Urban Beat in Old Town Lansing at 7:30 pm on March 12, 2026. The performance is by the Woodward Quartet composed of members of the Detroit Symphony. The program consists of the melodic first movement of his Trio No. 1 by Franz Schubert. That is followed by Ernst von Dohnányi’s String Trio "Serenade" Op. 10. This work is described as definitely 20th century although it was first performed in 1904. The final piece is the Fauré Piano Quartet in C minor Op. 15. This piece has been described as “unmistakably French with a strong kinship to both the suave Romanticism of Franck and the cool sensuality of Debussy.” Come enjoy the music with a glass of wine at the intimate surroundings of Urban Beat.
