The Flint River.

Ben Carter; Michigan State Men's Basketball; NCAA Title Odds; Eric Woodyard; Youth Involvement in Sports; Flint.

On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin" you can add another name to the list of big man threats for MSU men's basketball. Ben Carter, the sixth-year forward who hasn't played since 2016, will be back after the NCAA granted him a medical waiver and sixth year of eligibility. Current Sports has all of the news with Spartan men's basketball, as Al breaks down the status of the team. Are the Spartans favorites to win it all? And with only so much playing time to go around, engineer Isaac Constans says that Carter's top contribution next year might be as a leader. Then, MLive sports reporter and Flint native Eric Woodyard sets the scene for a game-changing athletics merger. Woodyard describes what caused two prominent Flint High Schools to combine their athletic programs and he tries to troubleshoot why kids aren't getting as involved in sports. The interview with Woodyard helps to close the show by bringing an update on the Flint water crisis, which is still ongoing.
