Jim and Sue Spaniolo have a long history of service to the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Sue Spaniolo is a Michigan State University alumna with a bachelor's degree from the College of Business, and is currently the director of business operations for the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Jim Spaniolo earned his bachelor's degree in political science from MSU and served as dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences for eight years from 1996 to 2003. He served as president of the University of Texas at Arlington from 2004 to 2013.

"We are proud to support WKAR TV and play a part in assuring its vibrant future as mid-Michigan's source for public media," said Sue Spaniolo.

WKAR TV plans to identify qualified programmatic needs that the Innovation Fund will help support to keep the station current and competitive.

For over 60 years, WKAR TV has provided educational and entertaining programming for people of all ages across mid-Michigan. The station continues to build upon that service with WKAR originals, the best from PBS, and community events that bring together people and ideas to Expand Your World.
