For the past 20 years, little people from around the world have gathered every four years  to  compete in the World Dwarf Games. This year the games are returning to their birthplace -- East Lansing, Michigan.

From August 3-10, 395 athletes from 17 nations compete in 14 different events -- from table tennis and shooting to soccer and power lifting. It is the largest sporting event in history exclusively for athletes with dwarfism.

WKAR teamed up with Chicago-based photographer John Patrick McGuire to capture the buzz of this international sporting event through portraits and interviews with the athletes.
