The Renaissance Singers present: A Sampler of English Madrigals and Fa la la’s and instrumental music for recorders.

Renaissance madrigals based on love and courtship are similar in variety to modern expressions found in today’s songs and range from plaintive laments to happy fa la la’s! Most of the singers’ selections are taken from the rich repertoire of the late sixteenth-century English School of Madrigalists. Interspersed between the song sets our instrumental consort performs four-part repertoire on a matched set of replica recorders along with a medieval harp and percussion.
