The Packard Farmers Market returns for the 2026 season at the historic Packard Proving Grounds, bringing together local farmers, artisans, bakers, makers, and small businesses in a one-of-a-kind setting where history and community meet.

Formerly known as the Shelby Farmers Market, the newly rebranded Packard Farmers Market reflects its deep connection to the Packard Proving Grounds and its mission to support the preservation of this iconic historic site. The market runs Saturdays from May 16 through October 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on the expansive front lawn of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site.

Each week, the market is arranged in neat rows across the lawn, offering a relaxed, walkable shopping experience. Vendors may park directly next to their booths, and the grass setting provides a cooler summer atmosphere ideal for tent setups. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. The market is supported by Packard Proving Grounds volunteers and local high school students earning community service hours.

The Packard Farmers Market is open on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and will be closed Saturday, July 4. Proceeds from the market directly benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, owned and operated by the Packard Motor Car Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The 2nd Annual Miles for Medicine 5K is a collaborative community health and wellness event hosted by MSU College of Human Medicine SNMA, MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine SNMA, and Spartan Street Medicine. The event brings together students, healthcare professionals, families, and members of the Greater Lansing community for a 5K run/walk centered on physical activity, service, and community engagement. A portion of race proceeds will support Care Free Medical Clinic and The White Dress Project, with additional proceeds supporting student-led health outreach and community programming.

Register to compete and either pick up your Rubber Duck Kit (1 rubber duck, air dry clay, and paint pots) starting September 1 — kits are first come first served, while supplies last — or attend the Rubber Duck Cosplay Decorating Night on September 2nd to decorate a duck. Bring in your finished duck by Sept. 28 for display and People’s Choice voting in October!

This season, we’re bringing all your favorite Studio Ghibli soundtracks to Ypsilanti! Featuring music from My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Kiki’s Delivery Service, this concert will capture the hearts of Studio Ghibli fans of all ages!

Following a brief presentation on bats, adults and older youth will embark on a guided night hike with Ben Savoie, Eaton County Parks Naturalist, utilizing acoustic monitors to observe and identify bat species within Lincoln Brick Park.
