A fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Blending characters and stories from various Dr. Seuss books, including Horton Hears a Who! and Horton Hatches the Egg.

This fast-paced, high-energy production will bring to life the many unusual characters in the books of Dr. Seuss that have delighted children for many years. This popular musical that brings Dr. Seuss characters to life on stage. It features beloved characters like Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, and more as they explore themes of friendship, loyalty, and the importance of believing in oneself.

The Packard Farmers Market returns for the 2026 season at the historic Packard Proving Grounds, bringing together local farmers, artisans, bakers, makers, and small businesses in a one-of-a-kind setting where history and community meet.

Formerly known as the Shelby Farmers Market, the newly rebranded Packard Farmers Market reflects its deep connection to the Packard Proving Grounds and its mission to support the preservation of this iconic historic site. The market runs Saturdays from May 16 through October 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on the expansive front lawn of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site.

Each week, the market is arranged in neat rows across the lawn, offering a relaxed, walkable shopping experience. Vendors may park directly next to their booths, and the grass setting provides a cooler summer atmosphere ideal for tent setups. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. The market is supported by Packard Proving Grounds volunteers and local high school students earning community service hours.

The Packard Farmers Market is open on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and will be closed Saturday, July 4. Proceeds from the market directly benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, owned and operated by the Packard Motor Car Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Get ready to turn up the heat! Join us Saturday, June 13th at Michigan Hot Glass inside the historic Russell Industrial Center for our next Glass Experience workshop! Featuring a full day of hands-on glassmaking, skill-sharing, and good vibes!

Choose your 1-Hr Glass Experience:
- Hot Shop: Shape molten glass and create a glass flower
- Flamework: Sculpt with fire using the torch and create a heart pendant
- Glass Casting: Pour molten glass into sand molds to create a glass tile
- Glass Fusing: Cut, arrange, and join glass using the kiln to create a glass mosiac

Each 1-hour experience includes guided instruction + hands-on time to create your own unique piece of glass art to take home for just $65/session! No prior glass experience is necessary. Perfect for beginners, on your own, with friends or family, or as a creative date! This is an adult art class for ages 16+.

Learn emergency procedures, discipline techniques, diapering, age-appropriate activities, rescue breathing, the Heimlich maneuver, and basic first aid skills needed while babysitting. Upon workshop completion, students receive an American Red Cross babysitting course certificate. Registration required, class size limited.

Families with Kids
Come Join the Parade! We’ll provide flags, garland, crepe paper, and more to “Yankee-Doodle” up your bike, wagon, scooter, or stroller-- then ride with us in the parade! While supplies last. Helmets encouraged, adults walk with kids. Meet at Sawdon School Parking lot!

In connection with the Centennial Celebration being held at the Capital Region International Airport, children ages 8-17 will get a free flight (~20 minutes). Parent or guardian signature is required at the event.

Hop along with us for a Frog Walk at Fox Park! We’ll start by learning about different local frog species and the unique calls they make. Then we’ll take a guided nature hike through Fox Park to listen for frogs in their natural habitat and try to identify who’s calling.
