Okemos athletic director Ira Childress cuts the ribbon during the grand opening of the Okemos High School strength and conditioning center.

The Okemos High School athletic department officially unveiled its new strength and conditioning center to the public on Wednesday evening.

The Okemos school board approved the proposal on the north end of the high school last year and the project was paid for by the building and site sinking fund. Okemos athletic director Ira Childress believes the new addition will be of great benefit for the students at Okemos.
