Zipcar launches car-sharing program at MSU

By Gretchen Millich, WKAR News

EAST LANSING, MI – Zipcar is now available on the Michigan State University campus. MSU launched the car-sharing program Wednesday in an effort to get more people to car pool or use mass transit. At first, there will be 6 Zipcars on campus.

Richard Paisner is with Zipcar. He says it's a cost effective way to have access to a car.

"It starts at $8.00 an hour," he says. "It maxes out at $66.00 for the day. On the weekends, it's just a little bit more, $9.00 an hour, $72.00 for the day. But keep in mind, that includes gas, insurance, maintenance, roadside assistance."

The Zipcar program is open to the public. To register, go to Zipcar.com/msu.
