Backpack Giveaway

Backpack Giveaway
On August 15th, Power 96.5, Lansing’s Hip Hop and R&B station, along with local non-profit Communities In Schools Michigan, will give backpacks to kids in the Lansing community.
We are celebrating this year’s WE ALL WIN theme, where we give back to the community and take on our 16th year. Back to school is quickly approaching, and Power 96.5 and Communities In Schools Michigan continue to support the community by helping families with the upcoming school year. Backpacks are filled with essential school supplies and distributed in a drive-thru style giveaway – bags are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and throughout the years, the turnout has been overwhelming! Everyone at the radio station, along with our 2024 sponsors, is thrilled to be giving back in such an impactful way. It’s something this area looks forward to every year!
The We All Win Power 96.5 and Communities In Schools Backpack Giveaway takes place at the Don Johnson Field house parking lot (400 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Lansing, by the Eastern High School Football Field) on THURSDAY, August 15th from 2-4 PM (or until we run out of bags). Please make sure to enter through the Pennsylvania Ave. entrance. A parent and child must be present to receive supplies.
