Lansing Area AIDs Walk 2026
Lansing Area AIDs Walk 2026
The annual event has occurred for over 25 years -- bringing attention to the needs of those living
with and at risk for HIV infection as well as honoring the thousands of mid-Michigan residents who
have died of HIV-related complications.
"This is a powerful opportunity to honor the memory of those lost to this epidemic, recommit to
ending the pandemic and honor and support those living with HIV," says LAAN Executive Director
Kristina Schmidgall.
The event includes a 2 mile-walk and community gathering and festival with vendors offering a
variety of support programs, arts and crafts.
The annual event raises thousands of dollars to support Lansing Area AIDS Network programs
including support groups for people living with HIV, a food bank-- which helps provide essential
food to maintain the health of people living with HIV-- and programing to support people living with
HIV and their unique social and economic needs, ranging from housing to specialized healthcare.
"Joining the AIDS Walk not only honors LAAN’s 40-plus year legacy but also ensures that essential
services and programs remain available, free of charge, to those living with HIV across central
Michigan,” says LAAN Board President Evan Lewis.
