Red Cedar Festival of Community Bands

Red Cedar Festival of Community Bands

Hosted by the Meridian Community Band, the Red Cedar Festival of Community Bands brings together wind ensembles from throughout Michigan for a day of public performances and clinics. With a focus on continuing education and direct feedback for both conductors and musicians, the Red Cedar Festival has been instrumental in growing the level of musicianship in community bands. The 2024 festival will be held on Saturday, March 9th at Okemos High School, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Audience members are invited to stay for one performance or the full day!

Performances by DeWitt Community Concert Band, Oakland Community College Wind Symphony, Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble, North Oakland Concert Band, Grand Ledge Community Band, Washtenaw Community Concert Band, Saginaw Area Concert Band, Royal Oak Concert Band, Warren Concert Band, and host Meridian Community Band. Full event lineup at https://www.meridiancommunityband.org/red-cedar-festival/

The Red Cedar Festival is supported by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, administered by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Inc. Participating bands, local area businesses, and Meridian Community Band patrons also provide generous support. Admission is free, though donations are gratefully accepted.
