Hollywood Nights - America’s Bob Seger Experience is the ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Come enjoy coffee, conversation and audience participation for an afternoon of poetry, fun and ideas. Area women poets read poems about 5 subjects in rotation, each giving their spin on the topics. It's a fast-paced, different kind of reading, full of engaging and provoking poems to engage an audience of both poetry fans and those unfamiliar with its performance. A Caregiver’s Butterfly Garden – Exhibit at the City of East Lansing's Hannah Community Center

Event Description

Experience A Caregiver’s Butterfly Garden, a powerful art and storytelling exhibit created by MSU's IMPART Alliance and AgeAlive, in partnership with the City of East Lansing.

This vibrant installation honors Michigan’s Direct Care Workers (DCWs) — the professionals who provide essential daily support for older adults and people with disabilities. Each butterfly in the exhibit carries a handwritten message from a caregiver, folded into art that transforms individual reflections into a collective symbol of compassion, resilience, and advocacy.

Curated by East Lansing artist-in-residence Zahrah Resh, the exhibit combines creativity, community, and awareness to highlight the urgent need for a stronger direct care workforce across Michigan—one that receives fair wages, training, and recognition for their vital work.

Visitors are invited to explore the garden, learn about the project, and reflect on the importance of caregiving in our communities.

Can't Stop Eating?
Compulsive Eaters Anonymous – HOW (CEA-HOW) is a 12-Step fellowship for anyone suffering from compulsive eating, anorexia, and bulimia. We are a fellowship of individuals who share your problem and offer support. Come meet others who have found a working solution. Come to a meeting and start finding hope! In CEA-HOW membership is anonymous. There are no dues or fees for membership. The only requirement is a desire to stop eating compulsively. Adults can meet up at the Library monthly at this time for interesting presentations, crafts, games -- and coffee, snacks and conversation with friends you know-- and those you've just met.

GLADL has partnered with BrickHaven Brewing Company to offer a Silent Book Club in Grand Ledge. Participants gather at our designated tables at BrickHaven, and everyone brings a book of their choice to read. The Library Coordinator will offer a quick greeting, participants may order drinks and food, and then we'll all silently read the book of our choice for about 45 minutes. After that time, the Coordinator will invite everyone to share a bit about the book they're reading and people can choose to participate or not, whatever they're comfortable with. Registration required to reserve space.

Ready, set...roll! Join us for a wacky race where potatoes are the stars of the track. Decorate your very own "spud mobile" and race it down the derby ramp.
