General Motors CEO Mary Barra delivered the news in person on Monday that GM plans to pump $36 million into the Lansing Delta Township Assembly Plant.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra speaks at the Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant.

The facility makes the crossover vehicles the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave.

“I’m confident this plant will build on the momentum it has created and continue to build the best crossovers in the market,” said Barra.

Crossover vehicles are made with the architecture of a car, but have the benefits such as cargo space of an SUV according to GM.

Recently General Motors announced it was stopping  production at four United States facilities. The company says it has jobs for 2,700 of  2,800 hourly workers impacted by the layoffs in the U.S.
