Poll: Mich. voters like tourism, movie promotions

By AP

DETROIT – A poll of likely Michigan voters shows strong support for two state economic development programs - the Pure Michigan ad campaign and the moviemaking tax credit.

The poll released Sunday shows 67 percent supporting the Pure Michigan tourism promotion effort. Actor Tim Allen is its spokesman.

Twenty-five percent say they're opposed, with 8 percent undecided or not saying.

Fifty-eight percent say they favor Michigan's film tax credit, with 33 opposed and 9 percent undecided or not saying.

The poll is for the Detroit Free Press and TV stations WXYZ, WJRT, WOOD and WILX. EPIC-MRA questioned 600 people Oct. 23 through Tuesday.

The results have a margin of sampling error of 4 percentage points up or down.
