Lansing parks director leaving for state position

LANSING, MI –
A longtime Lansing city parks official is leaving for a position with the state Department of Natural Resources.

Parks and recreation director Murdock Jemerson becomes district manager for the Rose Lake Parks District on June 14. He will oversee management of more than a dozen mid-Michigan state parks and recreation areas.

The Michigan State University graduate has been a city employee for 17-years.
