2023 Nuestra Cultura: Powerfully Diverse Panel (Latino/x/Hispanic Heritage)
The Office of Race Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is proud to present the second iteration of “Nuestra Cultura: Powerfully Diverse” in honor of Latino/x/Hispanic Heritage Month. Employees are invited to a panel discussion on the intersection of race and Latino identity, such as Afrolatinidad, Asian-Latinidad and Indigenous-Latinidad, among others.
The panel consists of:
• Dr. Oscar Castaneda, director of operations at Action of Great Lansing.
• Lorenzo Lopez, Latino/LGBTQ activist.
• Felix Sharpe-Caballero, community activist and retired public administrator.
• Dr. Sheila Contreras, associate professor at the Michigan State University Department of English.
• Hilda Martinez-Gutierrez, founder and principal consultant of Art of Mind and Mental Health Consulting.
