Join us at our Annual Back to School Health Fair on August 4, 9 am to 4 pm at the Ingham County Health Department for health screenings, and access to community-based programs and services for children and families! Get immunizations, vision and hearing screenings, schedule sports physicals, get lead testing, dental screenings and car seat safety checks. There will also be fun activities and giveaways.

Enjoy a fun night of Dinosaur and foam fun, carnival games, prizes, treats and hot dogs! Each reading log you complete earns you more carnival tickets to spend! Many non-ticketed activities for all to play too like Eaton County Parks Game trailer. Everyone welcome, dress to get messy!

Whether you're experienced or just starting, the stage is open to all.

Not a performer? Enjoy dinner, drinks, and live music from local artists. No cover charge and all ages are welcome. Come early and enjoy the local flavor of Old Town.

This band is talented! This band is incredible. On The Lash is a thrilling blend of Irish heart and classical precision that will put a spark in your soul and a jig in your step. Wrap yourself in the wistful tunes and timeless ramblings that have bounced through the hills of the Emerald Isle for centuries. Formed in 2022, this Kalamazoo band is now on the road performing around the country. This is a concert not to be missed. It's a hidden gem on the St. Johns Concert in the Park series. They are the real deal!

Children and teens, ages 6-17 are welcome to showcase an act, including singing, playing an instrument, dance, magic, juggling, and more! Registration is open June 1-July 14 and entry forms will be available at the library's Youth Services desk and online at dtdl.org/summer. Participants must come to an audition session on July 11 or 15. Audience members of all ages are welcome at the talent showcase on August 6 at 6:30 p.m.

The Packard Farmers Market returns for the 2026 season at the historic Packard Proving Grounds, bringing together local farmers, artisans, bakers, makers, and small businesses in a one-of-a-kind setting where history and community meet.

Formerly known as the Shelby Farmers Market, the newly rebranded Packard Farmers Market reflects its deep connection to the Packard Proving Grounds and its mission to support the preservation of this iconic historic site. The market runs Saturdays from May 16 through October 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on the expansive front lawn of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site.

Each week, the market is arranged in neat rows across the lawn, offering a relaxed, walkable shopping experience. Vendors may park directly next to their booths, and the grass setting provides a cooler summer atmosphere ideal for tent setups. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. The market is supported by Packard Proving Grounds volunteers and local high school students earning community service hours.

The Packard Farmers Market is open on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and will be closed Saturday, July 4. Proceeds from the market directly benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, owned and operated by the Packard Motor Car Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Join us for an afternoon of clothing swap fun!

Here are the guidelines:

Each person may bring no more than 5 pieces of clothing
Clothing must be clean and in good condition
Each person can take up to 5 pieces of clothing
Clothing will be sorted by general category (kid, teen, adult) and available for participants to browse.

Any leftover clothing will be donated to local charities.

Guests can meet adoptable pets, talk with rescue volunteers, and learn more about the many ways animals show up in our lives, our artwork, and in the communities around us.

Whether you’re looking for a new companion, thinking about fostering, or just stopping by to support, we’d love to welcome you.

Join us for a crafting program to explore and create with colorful Perler Beads! We'll have some dinosaur peg boards and templates available or choose from many other shapes. Use string or magnets to turn your creations into decorations.
