Stop by anytime from 4pm - 7pm and watch "The Lord of the Gourd" at work, crafting fantastical faces & creatures from pumpkins, and maybe a few squash as well. Watch and learn some hints, tips, and fun techniques. Enjoy a treat & and try your hand on some "mini- pumpkin" carving with our safe pumpkin carving tools! Weather permitting, carving outside at the Library. Event will move inside if necessary.

The Nutrition, Opportunities and Media (NOM) Food Forum binds the food we eat with the conversations that matter. We believe that to survive the challenges of tomorrow and find true resilience, communities must talk to one another. Whether we are swapping recipes, exploring the rich diversity of global cuisines, or diving into difficult but essential political issues, everyone has a seat at this table. Join us to learn, share, and connect across all backgrounds and identities. NOM is a community forum where the universal love of—and need for—food sparks the conversations that matter most.​

This workshop is a 6-week community diabetes education program to help individuals learn the tools and techniques needed for day-to-day management.

Give your favorite book some bling! Bring a book you already own, pick your colors, get a little crafty, and settle into the process. Think rhinestones, good vibes, and a cozy creative night with fellow book lovers at the library. Bring your own book from home or choose from our donated books, all other materials are included. No experience necessary.

It’s the kind of piece that feels like it’s speaking directly to you. Then Berlioz takes us somewhere else entirely. Symphonie Fantastique is obsession turned into sound, blurring the line between reality and imagination. Scott Seaton opens the season with a program that leans all the way into intensity and emotion.

Program includes Masquerade by Anna Clyne, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in e minor, and Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.

The Packard Farmers Market returns for the 2026 season at the historic Packard Proving Grounds, bringing together local farmers, artisans, bakers, makers, and small businesses in a one-of-a-kind setting where history and community meet.

Formerly known as the Shelby Farmers Market, the newly rebranded Packard Farmers Market reflects its deep connection to the Packard Proving Grounds and its mission to support the preservation of this iconic historic site. The market runs Saturdays from May 16 through October 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on the expansive front lawn of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site.

Each week, the market is arranged in neat rows across the lawn, offering a relaxed, walkable shopping experience. Vendors may park directly next to their booths, and the grass setting provides a cooler summer atmosphere ideal for tent setups. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. The market is supported by Packard Proving Grounds volunteers and local high school students earning community service hours.

The Packard Farmers Market is open on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and will be closed Saturday, July 4. Proceeds from the market directly benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, owned and operated by the Packard Motor Car Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
