Kids Can Think and Talk Like Scientists by Reading!

WKAR Family produces the third video within the new video series on STEM vocabulary development through reading.

The third video, Kids Can Think and Talk Like Scientists by Reading, encourages reading aloud with kids as a great way to introduce STEM language into their vocabulary. Science isn’t often taught in early elementary grades, but integrating science into literary instruction can help kids learn about the world around them to think and talk like scientists!

Further celebrate the power of reading this summer with a series of events and activities hosted by WKAR and The Great American Read. The Great American Read is an eight-part series, hosted by Meredith Vieira, that explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey). It investigates how and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience.
