Most area post offices not open late for last-minute tax filers

Most Lansing-area post offices will not offer extended hours for last-minute income tax filers.

East Lansing, MI – While Americans have until midnight to file their federal income tax returns, most mid-Michigan post offices are not staying open late. The U.S. Post Office at 4800 Collins Road in Lansing will be open the latest, until 7:30 p.m. All other branches are open various hours.

Officials at the Collins Road branch say customers can also use their 24-hour automated postal center in the building's outer lobby.
