Now through October 31, families are invited to enjoy the Story Walk Trail at Hidden Lake Gardens! This 0.4-mile trail, full of twists, turns, gentle hills, and scenic views, is located near the Picnic Area, just west of the conservatory. Along the way, little ones can follow signs that bring a delightful children’s story to life.This year’s featured book is Sip, Pick, and Pack by Michigan author Polly Cheney. Through playful rhymes and vibrant illustrations, this educational tale introduces children to seeds, plants, and pollinators in a fun and engaging way. Copies of the book are available for purchase in the Daffodil Gift Shop.

Enter the Traverse City Getaway Raffle to benefit Project Purple, a nonprofit dedicated to pancreatic cancer research and patient support.
Created in memory of Lou Ann Bogart and her lifelong love for Northern Michigan, this raffle offers a weekend getaway for two to Traverse City, valued at over $1,500. The winner (Sept. 11–13, 2026) will enjoy:

Join us for the final cruise of the season at the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum! The Graveyard Shift Cruise-In is open to all makes, models, and years. Participating drivers and a passenger receive free admission to the museum as well as coffee, cider, and donuts.

Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope.
“Armed with a paintbrush, a broom, and neighborhood children, Guyton and Grandpa began by cleaning up vacant lots on Heidelberg Street”.

South Church presents the dramatic musical, “Pilgrim”. This allegorical presentation is based on the book by John Bunyan, entitled “The Pilgrim’s Progress”.Christian’s life is not fulfilling. In fact, after realizing his dissatisfaction with life and a run-in with someone who offers him hope, he develops a burden that leads him to begin a journey from his home in search of something more. Guided by a king who cares for him, Christian meets many characters along the way – a wise old interpreter, a hopeful friend, and a girl from his own village. He is distracted from his journey by many misguided people, is trapped by a giant, and must fight the prince of his village for his very life. Will he make it to the end of his journey? You’re invited to find out! As Christian experiences joy, struggles through grief, and fights for hope in the midst of despair, you’ll be moved by this relatable and engaging story.All are welcome to attend! Shows are at South Church in Lansing on October 11 at 7 pm, 12 at 6 pm, 17 at 7 pm, 18 at 1 and 6 pm, and 19 at 6 pm. All shows are free! Doors open half an hour before the performance.
