Contribute to real scientific research by playing a video game to help with Alzheimer's research. Participants will look at brain scans to determine if blood is flowing or stalled. Participation counts toward the shared goal of 2.50 million Acts of Science.

Join us for a preview screening of The Tower (2026)! Directed by Iowa-based filmmakers Philip Rabalais and Auden Lincoln-Vogel, The Tower is a feature-length fiction film woven from interconnected vignettes devised with untrained actors from Fairfield, Iowa. We welcome back the filmmakers for another campus screening at this special Broad Underground X MSU Film Collective event.

Broad Underground is an ongoing collaboration between the MSU Broad Art Museum and the MSU Film Studies Program that presents experimental film, video, and new media, and encourages conversation around the topics featured. The MSU Film Collective is a series run by the MSU Film Studies Program, where cinephiles gather weekly to discuss good films.

The Mockingbird Ensemble, composed of renowned musicians Danilo Mezzadri (flute), Susan Riggiero (soprano), and Brian Murphy (piano), will bring us the warmth of Mississippi to Michigan with a wonderful and varied program of music. The offerings span the time from 1740 with a work by Handel, “Sweet Bird”, a duet between a flute (the bird) and a soprano, to 2016 with a sonata in two movements by Mexican composer Samuel Zyman. The program also showcases varied musical styles including Samuel Barger’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 with music set to excerpts from a prose poem by James Agee to Debussy’s impressionistic piece, Reflets dans l’eau from Images, Book 1 (1905). Topping off an exotic evening is a work from the forests of the Amazon, Melodia Sentimental, by Heitor Villa-Lobos. This evening promises to be a worldwide adventure in music.

Bring the whole family to the MSU Broad Art Museum for a fun exploration of darkness and light! Discover how night and day shape the world around us through hands-on art activities. Learn how our eyes, bodies, and environments change after the sun goes down. And explore how bugs, plants, and animals use darkness (and light) to rest, adapt, and grow!

This event is part of the MSU Science Festival and takes place during International Dark Sky Week, a global celebration that encourages us to notice the night sky and reflect on the importance of darkness in our natural world. Activities are inspired by the exhibition Jan Tichy: Darkness, which invites visitors to think differently about night, natural cycles, and our connection to the world after dark. Darkness is on view Jan. 31–Jul. 26, 2026.

Capital City Film Festival (CCFF) celebrates artists from around the world by curating outstanding multimedia experiences for the community. The annual festival showcases an eclectic mix of independent films, live music, interactive media, and more in Michigan’s capital city.

Come on out to the Michigan State University Student Horticulture Association's 38th Annual Spring Show and Plant Sale! Taking place on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00AM-6:00PM, and Sunday, April 19th from 10:00AM-4:00PM. The Student Horticulture Association is a student led organization that aims to educate and connect others through horticulture, and we are happy to announce our theme as "The Seasons of Pixie Hollow," taking inspiration from the Tinkerbell franchise, and the enchanted forest. Come on out to our plant sale and get all of your garden needs taken care! Students grow and sell a wide variety of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and more, with the spring show giving them the opportunity to apply their learned skills from the classroom to a project! We would love to see you there!

Lead singers of Chicago and Boston team up for a night of rock’n’roll favorites spanning the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Jason Scheff joined Chicago in 1985 as lead singer, performing their hit songs like “Look Away,” “Saturday in the Park” and “If You Leave Me Now.” Tommy DeCarlo joined Boston in 2008 and performs their hit songs like “More Than a Feeling,” “Amanda” and “Don’t Look Back.”
