A single bullet hole is seen Monday in the window of the E Michigan Ave Branch of the Secretary of State.

Police are trying to find the person who fired a shot into a window of a Lansing branch of the Secretary of State on Monday.

It's the office on East Michigan Avenue by the Frandor Shopping Center where people obtain driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.

Police said no one was injured. Lansing Police Lieutenant Rob Backus said officers responded to a report of shots fired just before 11:00 a.m.

A single bullet hole is seen Monday in the window of the E Michigan Ave Branch of the Secretary of State.

“When we arrived we didn’t find any of the intended targets or any suspects. We had a number of witnesses who said that the one shot entered through the window from the outside and one round was recovered from the inside of the building.” Backus said.

No arrests have been made but Lieutenant Backus does not believe there is an active threat to the public.
