A: There is an immense amount of information being offered to parents these days especially with the COVID-19 pandemic. I recognize this can produce an overwhelmed feeling. Information can be seen as both a blessing and a curse: be selective about what you read, review and digest and save the rest for when a need for the advice arises.
The reality is there is an immense amount of information for everyone not just parents. It’s connected to the reach we have with multi-media and technological tools. A sign of the times we live in. Here are some quick tips I use to not feel overloaded.
Create a folder for interesting and trusted resources, articles, newsletters and blog posts.
Set aside a time to read what stands out or resolves a question. Then mark as read or dispose.
If the message doesn’t connect, feel free to move on. Time is precious.
Remember all families are unique and what may be old news to one, may be brand new information to another. A review of best practices never goes wrong.
