Tue., Sept. 8, 9am-4pm on 90.5 FM and STREAMING | Celebrate the day that marks the importance of reading for all!

Throughout the day on 90.5 Classical, Jody Knol and Jamie Paisley will celebrate literature that has transcended the page and come alive through music.

Works like Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, the 1001 Nights of Scheherazade, Lewis Carol's Alice stories, and even a certain teenage wizard who lived under a staircase. Join Jody and Jamie as we celebrate the written word (through music) at the start of each hour on WKAR 90.5 FM.

Every WKAR News story you read is rooted in fact-based, local journalism, produced without commercial influence and available for free to everyone in mid-Michigan. No paywalls. Ever.

But this work doesn’t fund itself. With significant cuts to federal funding, public media is facing a critical moment. If you believe in journalism that serves the public interest, now is the time to act. Donate today.
