Alexander Ovenchkin; NHL Playoffs; NBA Playoffs; Best Postseason in Sports; Joanne Gerstner; Concussions in Youth Sports; Throwback Thursday.

Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovenchkin might not be pleased about it, but the NHL playoffs have been full of excitement. Al revisits the bad night for  Washington D.C. teams last night, and poses the question of which playoffs are better--basketball or hockey. Al gives his take, and engineer Isaac Constans offers his opinion too, in a historical dialog.  Then, Joanne Gerstner lends Current Sports her expertise on a couple of important topics. First, Gerstner, a professor and sports writer for a litany of prestigious organizations, releases what she knows from friends in the business about the ESPN layoffs, and she describes the current condition of journalism. Then, she advises on how to help prevent summer concussions--fully flushed out in her book, Back in the Game: Why Concussion Doesn't Have to End Your Athletic Career. Finally, 'Throwback Thursday' brings back a bad, recent memory.
