Under the Radar Visits Lansing

Jun 29, 2012

"Under the Radar Michigan," the popular weekly series that visits sites throughout Michigan that are both known to all and known to few, came to Lansing. WKAR's crew met the "UTR" team in downtown Lansing, where host Tom Daldin recorded video promos and a fundraising video for WKAR.

Judging by the photos, it looks like this might have been the perfect way to spend a June day!

Watch "Under the Radar Michigan" on Sundays at 7 p.m. on WKAR-TV and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. on WKAR World.

The New Media Landscape

Jun 1, 2012

When I was young I had a fascination for all things technical. “Kind is it?”  “Size is it?” “What is it?” were the queries to my parents even before grammar and syntax became important. And while my parents did their best to answer my questions, my curiosity was both quelled, and stimulated, by broadcasting.

Susi Elkins: WKAR-TV Station Manager

Jun 1, 2012

Like most American kids, WKAR-TV station manager Susi Elkins grew up watching Sesame Street. She remembers coming home from school and eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk while watching her favorite show. Little did she know that one day she would be working alongside the children’s characters of Sesame Street and other programs that help define public television.
