A: Take a deep breath and know you are now and have always been your child's best teacher.
Yes, educators spend many years studying how to effectively educate students in accordance with state requirements and curriculum standards. However, teachers have always known, we are most effective when we have the support and partnership of the child's parent or caregiver.
During these trying times, I suggest a "NO GUILT ZONE" when it comes to your efforts to educate your children.
Do what you are able to.
This should include fostering a love of reading, STEM inquiry and global citizenship but release yourself from the pressure of unrealistic expectations. Teaching your children they are safe, valued and resilient is the best lesson they will learn.
