Now through October 31, families are invited to enjoy the Story Walk Trail at Hidden Lake Gardens! This 0.4-mile trail, full of twists, turns, gentle hills, and scenic views, is located near the Picnic Area, just west of the conservatory. Along the way, little ones can follow signs that bring a delightful children’s story to life.
This year’s featured book is Sip, Pick, and Pack by Michigan author Polly Cheney. Through playful rhymes and vibrant illustrations, this educational tale introduces children to seeds, plants, and pollinators in a fun and engaging way. Copies of the book are available for purchase in the Daffodil Gift Shop.

Come and show off what’s under the hood of your ride at the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum! We want to see original, modified, and the stuff that makes us say, “what is that?!” All drivers and passengers receive FREE admission to the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum- a $10 value.
Our cruise-ins are for all makes, all models, and all years- if it has wheels, you are welcome to bring it!

Audrey Ray, a Nashville recording artist, grew up in a house in Highland, Michigan, where music wasn’t just playing, it was blaring. The likes of Hank Williams, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn, to the Dixie Chicks, Jewel and Patty Griffin filled her with soulful sounds.
Audrey will be bringing her full 6-piece band to St. Johns for this special concert. They just recently opened for Clint Black at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater on the Detroit River. She also opened for Jamey Johnson in the same venue back in June.
Audrey also just got back from a Nashville recording session earlier in July with her producer, Mr. Kent Wells, who also produces Dolly Parton’s music. She describes her musical style as “original country sound and twang with an added touch of today’s country style.” Audrey will be performing some of her original music, along with country cover songs on her St Johns Concert. Her band also includes a steel guitar player.

Please come voice your concerns and experiences about your community, reentry, and inequities that the formerly incarcerated experience as well as share your ideas about how to address these issues. We will share updates on the chapter as well as current initiatives to assist our community members returning from incarceration.

Please join us and be a part of what it takes to create the change we want to see for the formerly incarcerated.
