The Farmers’ Market in Meridian Township will be expanding and relocating to the north side of the Meridian Mall parking lot.

Meridian Township Recreation Specialist Darcie Weigand said that the new facility is expected to serve as a social center of the community.

“We have moved our Wednesday market to the evening," said Weigand. "It’s now going to be from three to seven and so we hope that it will be kind of the Wednesday night hangout.”

At the new farmers market, people will be able to pick up fresh produce while enjoying live music, food trucks and more vendors.

There will also be additional space for parking. The new marketplace is expected to open in May 2020.
