Last week, Holt High School students told us who they would vote for in their mock election. This week, they tell us how they are feeling about the results of the real presidential election.

Last week, Brooke Allen took a field trip to Holt High School to follow their mock election and hear their thoughts on the Presidential election.

Gavin Sykes-McLaughlin is the teacher who organized the mock election and debate, and he said the students were not just doing it because they had to, they were doing it because they wanted to, and even though they were too young  to vote they each had a very strong stand on who they would vote for if it were possible.

After the surprising twists of this week, we checked back in with the students to get their thoughts on the results of the real presidential election.

Brooke Allen served as local producer and host for Morning Edition, from June 2016-March 2018.
