SUN. FEB. 16, 2020 | Technical issues at the WKAR transmitter site took TV broadcast off the air at approximately 8:15pm Saturday, Feb. 15. Some cable services were also affected.

Fri. Feb. 7, 8:30am | 105.1 FM NewsTalk will be off the air for brief periods on Friday while crews perform maintenance on the tower.

UPDATE: 2/6/20 2:30am | WKAR TV was off-air beginning 12am and returned to full power at approximately 2:10am.

UPDATE 6:30pm: Audio streams, donation pages and other interturupted services have been restored.

UPDATE MON. DEC. 30, 2019, 10am:  These additional broadcast dates have been added for Evening with the Governor 2019:
Fri. Jan. 3, 9pm on WKAR HD; Sat. Jan. 4, 7pm on WKAR World; Sun. Jan. 5, 12pm on WKAR HD

UPDATE: SUN. DEC. 22 - 8:39am: All WKAR online listening streams  have been restored.

Update 12:28 p.m.: Power is back on.

WED. OCTOBER 2, 2019 11:50 a.m.: WKAR (AM) and The Impact 88.9 are off the air due to a power outage. Consumers estimates restoration at 3:30 p.m.

UPDATE: 5/21/19, 9:35am: Listening streams have been restored.

TUE. MAY 21, 2019, 9:10am: All WKAR online listening streams are down. The affected services are  90.5, AM870 NewsTalk, WKAR Folk, WKAR Jazz, WKAR Classical and Radio Reading Service.

We are working to correct the problem.

WKAR broadcast TV channels 23.1, 23.2, 23.3, 23.4 will be off the air for scheduled transmitter maintenance in the early morning Wednesday 5/15/19 beginning after 12 a.m., with service expected to be restored by 2 a.m.
