Two weeks from today, Lansing voters will decide on a millage proposal designed to overhaul the city school district. Officials are asking voters to add 0.75 mills to an existing school levy to raise $120-million for what’s billed as the Lansing Pathways Promise. For Lansing homeowners, that figure works out to a $37.50 increase for every $50,000 in their home’s taxable value per year.
The project would fund an array of building improvements across the district. It would also create three “pathways” designed to guide Lansing students towards specific career goals.
